What Is Lent?

Lent is a season, repent, pray, give alms, season, Passion, Passion, preparation of the Resurrection. Starts Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday. It contains 40 days of fasting to commemorate the events of Jesus into the wilderness fasting, prayer and then take the temptation for 40 days and nights, a time of passion and sorrow. So the spirit of Lent is to make the interior as well as individual action relating to worship of the Church more and more faithful response to the message and the teachings of Christ. Thus the Church calls the faithful to come eagerly sacrifice, penance, works of charity, prayer and work in Lent Holy Apostles.
